.Peter is a designer and director who specialises in intricate puppets and clever set design. He takes great inspiration from the Japanese Bunraku form of puppetry and the Handspring Puppet Company. He creates work that surprises, is striking and bold.
After graduating from the University of Kent he co-ran Knuckle and Joint Theatre Company for 4 years alongside successfully designing sets and puppets for a number of companies including; Half Moon Theatre, Theatre Témoin, Sparkle and Dark, The Gulbenkian, Futures Theatre, Access All Areas. In 2013 he worked with the National Theatre’s War Horse outreach programme. He now runs Half a String, an award winning visual theatre company that tours regularly across the UK and works locally around Kent & London. |
Peter is artistic director of Half a String. Half a String’s first production A Heart at Sea was launched in April 2016 in a secret garden, in the pilgrim’s city of Canterbury. Since then it has grown into a performance that is touring 2017-2018, was nominated for Les Enfant Terribles' LET AWARD, sold-out a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017, and won the Drayton Arms Eddies Award. The production was grown out of a love for storytelling, live music and puppetry.
